In compliance with the health and safety recommendations, we will provide updates on occupancy levels, personal protective equipment and wearing masks, social distancing, cleaning protocols, and provide other important information. We anticipate regular COVID-19 pandemic updates between now and September, please check back soon for additional details.
Thank you in advance for helping to keep our community safe and healthy. We are committed to a great Smart Energy Week 2021 and look forward to seeing you in September!
Our Commitment To You
As we prepare to be onsite at SPI, ESI, and Smart Energy Week, there will be several new health and safety precautions at the event. We are still working with local officials to understand the facility and state requirements, as well as implement evolving best practices we are learning from the industry. Please know our number one priority is the safety of you, our attendees, exhibitors, and staff.
General Exhibitor and Show Floor Guidance
Show floor flow. We've widened our main aisles to allow for better social distancing. We also separated all in-line booths so that no two booths are directly next to each other.
Booths. Companies should explore adding plexiglass shields to counters or meeting tables and other social distancing measures. GES will provide new, social-distancing booth packages to enable your company get in and out quickly with minimal set up.
A full list of safety protocols can be found on the main Safely Connecting page.
Cloth Masks. Face coverings will be required for all attendees, exhibitors, and staff. Masks will be provided for anyone who needs one.
Although many jurisdictions have lifted the mask mandate, the Convention Center still requires masks to be worn. As an indoor event of tens of thousands, we want all our participants to be able to continue to do business safely. The CDC strongly recommends everyone is vaccinated.
If you forget your mask or wear a face covering that is not permitted on site, then we will provide you with a replacement mask.
All face masks must:
- Fully cover the nose and mouth
- If you are using a face shield you must also wear a face mask.
The following are not permitted:
- Neck Gaiters
- Open chin triangle bandanas
- Face masks with valves, vents, mesh material or holes of any kind.
Show Management will consider, on a case by case basis, exceptions to this policy for medical reasons if accompanied by a note from your physician.
* Policies subject to change as CDC recommendations change.
Sanitation Stations. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event. Touch-free hand sanitizer, as well as gloves and alcohol wipes will be available as well.
Regular Cleaning. We will work with the convention center, event hotels, and other venues to confirm they have increase cleaning regiments.
Registration. Your time spent at registration will be cut down through mobile badge pickup, which allows attendees to scan their registration barcode at one of the registration kiosks and print their badge. We’re also exploring additional touch-free access points.
Concessions. We are working with the venue to provide food and beverage in a no-contact way.
