FAQs & Event Information

North America Smart Energy Week, powered by industry-leading organizations the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), is the premier focal point for solar, smart energy, energy storage, wind, and hydrogen fuel cells professionals in North America looking to grow their renewable portfolio for businesses and communities.

This year to ensure the health and safety of all attendees, exhibitors, staff, and stakeholders, SPI, ESI, and North America Smart Energy Week 2020 will be going outside and has a new format. There will be three ways to participate. 1) Expo Experience Onsite and Online - show floor exhibits, general sessions, and additional activities will take place outdoors in Las Vegas, also available to live-stream from your hotel room. 2) Expo Experience Online Only – connect with exhibitors entirely online and access live-streamed sessions, interviews, and activities from your hotel room or your home. 3) Virtual Conference Sessions – in September, we'll begin a six-week education series with both live and on demand education, with new content added weekly. View the schedule-at-a-glance for content updates.

Registration costs vary. Please review the registration webpage for member/non-member costs, and what's included in each registration type.

In order to ensure that everyone can experience SPI, ESI, and North America Smart Energy Week this year, we’re creating an event experience for anyone who wants to participate in the event from the safety of their homes, or if they are onsite and want to take a break in their hotel room.

Networking is one of the top reasons that our attendees come to the event. We will have networking activities on the show floor each day as a way for attendees and exhibitors to connect. Official details about the event structure and networking events will be released in the next few weeks.

A number of show floor education sessions and live general sessions will take place onsite. The Full Conference education program will be available online, via a 6 week series of virtual conferences starting in September. More specific information about the onsite education will be available in the next few weeks.

Housing information will be available in early July.

Based on CDC recommendations, social distancing guidelines will be implemented throughout the event. This includes social distance guidelines of show floor flow to allow for more space in between attendees. This also applies to the number of allowable personnel in an exhibitor booth at the same time, based on the total square footage of the booth. Exhibiting companies will also be encouraged to explore adding plexiglass shields to counters or meeting tables and other social distancing measures. In place of high-touch items, such as giveaways, we are also encouraging exhibitors to take advantage of digital opportunities to distribute collateral.

A face covering will be required for all attendees, exhibitors, and staff. Masks will be provided for anyone who needs one.

We will work with the convention center, event hotels, and other venues to confirm they have increased cleaning regiments, such as sanitizing restrooms every hour. Additionally, hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the event. Touch-free hand sanitizer, as well as gloves and alcohol wipes will be placed around the event for attendees convenience.

We are working with the venue to provide food and beverage in a no-contact way. We will be using compostable, disposable service ware.

Information regarding booth availability, costs, expo hall hours, and more can be found on the exhibit page.

All exhibitors are being contacted individually by a member of the Solar Power Events Sales Team to discuss options for transferring your booth to the outdoor event in Las Vegas. You may also reach out to the Sales Team.
